Self-Made Millionaire Failures!
Do you just let things happen to you?
Wouldn't a better approach be to act proactively each
and everyday in the direction of your dreams and deepest
desires?
Everyday, I pay the price for learning, which inevitably is
to make mistakes. I believe that this is the very best way
to learn and move ahead toward a more rich and fulfilling
life. Certainly you've heard, "If you're not making
mistakes, you're probably not getting much accomplished
either."
The daily lessons of the week many times feel like deep
humiliations that will never be forgotten. Reality is that
each morning is a fresh slate, and nothing can be changed
from yesterday's events. The new day overshadows the
mistakes from the day before and now we know what *not* to
do. Those who repeat their failures are doomed to a life
of mediocrity.
When we make mistakes and truly learn from each respective
lesson, this is where our life takes on a new meaning and we
are blessed with the opportunity to lead a great existence
worthy for others to follow by our example. The quality of
these corrections are directly correlated to our eventual
and inevitable success.
I've put together two lists which I believe serve as a
valuable guide toward helping you make progress in all of
your effort. The first one is from *Think and Grow Rich*
and describes the thirty-one (31) major reasons for failure
and incorporates the thirteen (13) major principles through
which people accumulate fortunes. As you go through them,
check yourself by it point by point for the purpose of
discovering how many of these causes of failure stand
between you and success.
The second list is from *21 Success Secrets of Self-Made
Millionaires* by Brian Tracy. This information will change
your life for the better if you apply these terrific
concepts.
This info is very potent so do your best to use it in a way
that affects everything you do as you move through your
week.
Thirty-one Ways to Fail:
1. Unfavorable hereditary background.
2. Lack of a well-defined purpose in life.
3. Lack of ambition to aim above mediocrity.
4. Insufficient education.
5. Lack of self-discipline.
6. Ill health.
7. Unfavorable environmental influences during childhood.
8. Procrastination.
9. Lack of persistence.
10. Negative personality.
11. Lack of controlled sexual urge.
12. Uncontrolled desire for something for nothing.
13. Lack of a well defined power of decision.
14. One or more of the six basic fears.
15. Wrong selection of a mate in marriage.
16. Overcaution.
17. Wrong selection of associates in business.
18. Superstition and prejudice.
19. Wrong selection of a vocation.
20. Lack of concentration of effort.
21. The habit of indiscriminate spending.
22. Lack of enthusiasm.
23. Intolerance.
24. Intemperance.
25. Inability to cooperate with others.
26. Possession of power that was not acquired through
self-effort.
27. Intentional dishonesty.
28. Egotism and vanity.
29. Guessing instead of thinking.
30. Lack of capital.
31. Other.
Napoleon Hill states that most people cannot see themselves
as others see them. You may be one who cannot. He says
that it will be helpful if you can induce someone who knows
you well to go over this list with you, and help to analyze
you ... and also, it may be beneficial if you try this
alone, as well.
21 Success Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires:
1. Dream Big Dreams!
2. Develop a clear sense of direction.
3. See yourself as self-employed.
4. Do what you love to do.
5. Commit to excellence.
6. Develop a workaholic mentality.
7. Dedicate yourself to lifelong learning.
8. Pay yourself first.
9. Learn every detail of your business.
10.Dedicate yourself to serving others.
11.Be impeccably honest with yourself and others.
12.Set priorities on your activities and concentrate single
mindedly on one thing at a time.
13.Develop a reputation of speed and dependability.
14.Be prepared to climb from peak to peak in your life and
in your career.
15.Practice self-discipline in all things.
16.Unlock your inborn creativity.
17.Get around the right people.
18.Take excellent care of your physical health.
19.Be decisive and action oriented.
20.Never consider the possibility of failure.
21.Back everything you do with the twin qualities of
persistence and determination.
These lists are very accurate. Both authors, Hill and Tracy,
are two of the biggest names, if not THE biggest in success
literature to draw from, as you move forward to make your
dreams a reality.
I have always compared personal growth to adolescence. The
change is confusing and uncomfortable. Are you a child or
an adult, are you a success or a failure?
The distinction between success and failure exists in the
*lens* through which you view your life and everything
inside and outside of your very essence as a human being.
You can have anything you want, you just can't have
everything. Each *want* demands focused effort.
The only place that success comes before work is in the
dictionary, because of the first letter in the spelling.
If you can grasp the reality of your own dreams coming true,
or in other words, wrap your brain, mind and thoughts around
the possibility of some magnificent changes, very positive
things will happen for you.
Action usually follows belief. Get very clear on what you
believe in and go to work immediately to join the increasing
numbers who decide that life is not a dress rehearsal and
that one receives but one opportunity to put on a good show.
